So. Good.

Long-term review of the shin sleeves…LOVE THEM. Next to forward elbow pad, they are now my most important piece of skate gear. I (usually) wear them without the shin inserts. They are still thick enough to prevent my shins from getting chewed-up/scrapped/etc from board hits. 30+ years of skating and my shins are toast, and the skin down there (what’s left of it / mostly scar tissue at this point) doesn’t heal-up as fast as it used, and is a lot easier cut open. Wearing the shin-sleeves under socks has been a god-send. They are super low-profile, too, which is great. The compression aspect of them is also awesome. Old Bones Therapy I can’t thank you enough for making these, and I can’t recommend these more highly to anyone looking for some shin protection.

I’ve have both OBT shin sleeves (no shin insert) and OBT knee gasket/sleeves on in this pic, so can see how low-profile they are.

Awesome Product

Hello,
I suffer from a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy which has caused me to lose my calf muscles. To aid my mobility, I use Custom AFOs, which allow me to lead a somewhat normal life. However, these AFOs tend to rub against my shins, causing them to develop blisters and bruises. Prior to discovering the Old Bones Shin Protectors, I had to alternate between wearing my AFOs, as the bruises were too painful. I am grateful to have found these Shin Protectors, as they have greatly improved my quality of life.

Product was received damaged but customer service sent a replacement immediately

My initial review was not good (1 star) due to my experience with the website Chatbot. I ordered the compression sleeves/shin guards to protect my shins which suffered severe gashes from a recent mountain bike crash. The sleeves I received felt awesome when I put them on, almost immediately relieving my achy lower legs, but I noticed a small hole in the bottom of the slot that holds the shin pads, the result of a small defect in the stitching. I went online and used the chat feature to enquire about the process of getting an exchange. The Chatbot definitely demonstrated the current limits of AI as it indicated that Old Bones Therapy (OBT) would not be able to provide me a replacement at the same discounted price (I had used a promo code to get 15% off) and that I would have to go through the process of getting a refund and then repurchase a new set at full price.

Obviously, as would any customer, I was not happy with this outcome. However, I had almost simultaneously sent an email to Customer Service and Nicole (a human being) responded almost immediately to my issue and initiated shipment of a replacement without delay. Anyway, I am very happy with the product fit, the prompt service I got from Nicole, and look forward to wearing my shin guards out on the mountain bike trails! Thanks OBT!

Only recommendation to OBT would be to use caution when employing robots as a customer service interface...

Amazing Product!!

I’ve been wearing them most every day since I received them, my legs don’t ache at night while sleeping , I will say there is room to go a size bigger, because I can’t get the pads in mine yet , but they are keeping their shape and elasticity so far! Thanks for a great product👍

Amazing Relief

So I am using these off script. I have been having knee/leg/foot pain from standing 10-12 hours a day. At night once I was off my feet, the cramps were unbearable. Now I wear these all day at work, it helps keep my alignments and such right. When I get home and take them off, the cramps don’t come like they used to. Makes a WORLD of difference. My calves are 19”, so the XXL are snug, but not cutting off blood flow.

Only criticism, the advert says the shin guards are gel. The actual insert is just thick foam. Not a deal breaker, but not what I expected.
