Insoles for Neuropathy: What to Know First
Peripheral neuropathy can change how your feet feel: numbness, tingling, burning, or less sense of what you're standing on. Many people with neuropathy put extra thought into their shoes and what goes inside them, because a pressure spot or rough edge they can't feel is still there.
Before you change your footwear, check with your healthcare provider or podiatrist. They know your feet, and some people with neuropathy are advised to wear specific shoes or custom inserts.
Here's what's on this page. The All Day Foot Insoles are a full-length insole with a contoured arch, EVA foam and a PU base under a breathable top. The Shock Absorbing Foot Insoles layer PU memory foam on a molded arch support and heel cup. Both are general-purpose insoles you choose by shoe size. They aren't custom orthotics and aren't made for any specific medical condition.
If you trim them, make sure the cut edge is smooth, and check that the insole lies flat with no bunching once it's in the shoe. For long days on your feet, see insoles for standing all day, and for related guidance see diabetic insoles.
FAQs
What insoles are good for neuropathy?
That's a question for your healthcare provider or podiatrist, who can look at your feet and tell you whether off-the-shelf insoles are right for you or whether you need something custom. Our insoles are general-purpose cushioned insoles with arch support, not a medical product for neuropathy.
Can I wear these insoles if my feet are numb?
Check with your healthcare provider first. If you get the go-ahead, make sure the insole sits flat in the shoe with smooth, trimmed edges, and follow your provider's advice on checking your feet, since numbness can hide a rub or pressure spot.
Are these insoles custom orthotics?
No. Custom orthotics are made from a mold or scan of your feet. Ours come in standard sizes, S through 2XL, and you trim them to your shoe. If your podiatrist has prescribed custom orthotics or specific shoes, keep using those.
