Shop by Where It Hurts

Start with the spot that’s bugging you. Each body part page pulls together everything we make for it, so you can compare sleeves, braces, ice sleeves and pads side by side instead of scrolling the whole shop. Most of our gear starts with knitted compression you wear while you move, and our ice sleeves handle cold or heat therapy afterward.

Knees and Lower Legs

Knees are where most people start, and it’s our deepest lineup. The knee page runs from the Compression Knee Sleeve, slim enough to wear under jeans, to braces with springs or hinges for more side support, plus the Patella Knee Strap, a full Compression Leg Sleeve and the Ice Sleeve. For thighs 23 inches and up, see our plus size knee braces. Shopping for a specific problem? Start with bone on bone knee braces or knee braces for meniscus tears.

Below the knee, the shin page has the Compression Shin Sleeve, with a pad over the shinbone for board hits and pedal strikes, and an ice sleeve flexible enough to move down to the calf. For lower leg compression without the pad, see calf compression sleeves.

Ankles and Feet

For rolled or tired ankles, the ankle page has the Compression Ankle Sleeve, thin enough for skate shoes and work boots, and the Ankle Ice Sleeve for after. Coming back from a roll? See ankle braces for sprains.

Your feet take every step and every landing first. The feet page covers insoles and 15-20 mmHg compression socks. Heel pain? Start with plantar fasciitis insoles. On concrete all shift? Try insoles for standing all day. Skaters, see our skate insoles.

Back, Hips and Tailbone

For a stiff or tired lower back, the back page pairs the Back Brace, with two tension straps and vertical stays, with the OG Gel Ice Pack, which slides into a pocket in the brace to put cold or heat right over the sore spot. For fit and sizing, see our guide to back braces.

For the slams themselves, the hip and tailbone page has our Impact Shorts, a snug compression short with foam pads over the hips, glutes and tailbone that fits under jeans or snow gear.

Elbows, Wrists and Shoulders

The elbow page has the Compression Elbow Sleeve and the full-length Compression Arm Sleeve, for lifting, skating and repetitive work. For pain on the outside of the elbow, see compression sleeves for tennis elbow.

For wrists that type, grip and catch falls, the wrist page has the Compression Wrist Sleeve, the adjustable Wrist Wrap and the Wrist Ice Sleeve. And for shoulders that ache after lifting, throwing or paddling, the shoulder page has the Shoulder Ice Sleeve, which wraps compression and cold or heat around the whole joint and stays put while you sit or work.

FAQs

How do I choose the right support for my body part?

Start with how it feels. If it's sore or tired but still stable, a compression sleeve is the usual starting point, and we make one for knees, ankles, shins, elbows, wrists, arms and legs. For a knee that feels loose or gives way, our braces with springs or hinges add side support, and for the lower back there's the Back Brace. Each body part page puts every option for that spot side by side.

How do I find my size?

Go by a measurement, not your clothing size. Each product is sized at a specific spot: knee sleeves and braces 4 inches above the top of your kneecap, the elbow sleeve 3 inches above the elbow, the ankle sleeve around the heel and ankle, and the Back Brace around your waist at the navel. Most of our compression socks go by shoe size. The size chart on each product page shows where to measure. If you land between two sizes, the larger one feels easier to wear and the smaller one feels firmer.

Do you make gear for bigger bodies?

Yes. The Big Bones Knee Brace is cut wider for thighs 23 inches and up, measured 4 inches above the kneecap, so it stays up instead of rolling down. The Back Brace runs to XXL for waists up to 50 inches, and several compression sock styles go up to XXL or 2XL. Measure first and check the chart on each product page.

Should I wear compression or use an ice sleeve?

They do different jobs. Compression sleeves and braces are made to be worn while you move, at work or on the board. Ice sleeves are for 15 to 20 minute sessions of cold or heat therapy after activity, not for wearing through a workout. Plenty of people use both: compression during, ice after.

How long can I wear compression gear each day?

Most people wear their sleeves through a workout, a shift or a long day on their feet, then take them off to sleep. It should feel snug, not painful. If it leaves deep marks, or your skin goes numb or tingly, take it off and recheck your size. Ice sleeves are different: use them 15 to 20 minutes at a time.

What if it doesn't fit?

You have 60 days after your order arrives to request an exchange or return through our Returns & Exchanges Portal. Exchanges are free: we send you a prepaid return label and ship your new size at no cost. Returns need to be unworn, with tags and in the original packaging, so try it on before you take it out for a session. Not sure which size to order? Email help@oldbonestherapy.com and we'll help you pick.

What if I think I have a serious injury?

Get it checked by a healthcare provider first. A suspected tear, fracture or dislocation, or a joint you can't put weight on, may need a cast, boot or sling before anything else. Our gear is for support and recovery once you know what you're dealing with.
