Insoles for Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It usually shows up under the heel, worst with your first steps in the morning or after you’ve been sitting a while. The plantar fascia is the band of tissue along the bottom of the foot, and flat or worn-out insoles leave it carrying more of every step.

Our plantar fasciitis insoles put support under the arch and cushion under the heel, whether you’re standing all day at work, walking a lot, or skating a session.

Two Insole Types for Plantar Fasciitis

All Day Foot Insoles: built for long hours on your feet. A contoured arch shares the load across the foot so less of it ends up on the heel alone, which makes them a good fit for work boots, casual shoes and everyday wear.

Shock Absorbing Foot Insoles: built for impact. A molded TPU heel cup holds the heel in place, with PU memory foam on top to soften each heel strike. A good fit for athletes, skaters, runners and anyone whose heel pain flares during activity.

Not sure which to choose? If your pain is worst in the morning or after sitting, start with All Day. If it spikes during activity, go Shock Absorbing. Plenty of customers keep both, one pair for work and one for play.

Pair Them With Compression

Insoles work from underneath. For support around the heel and arch as well, pair them with our compression sleeves for plantar fasciitis. Prefer a sock? See our compression socks for plantar fasciitis. For more on pain under the heel, see insoles for heel pain, or browse every option in our orthotic insoles.

If your heel pain hasn’t eased after a few weeks, is swollen, or hurts at rest, see a healthcare provider.

FAQs

What type of insoles are best for plantar fasciitis?

Look for firm arch support and a cushioned heel rather than a flat gel insert. We make two types: All Day Foot Insoles for long hours at work and everyday wear, and Shock Absorbing Foot Insoles for high-impact activity like running, skating and sports.

Do insoles help with plantar fasciitis?

Supportive insoles are a common first step. They don’t treat plantar fasciitis, but arch support and heel cushioning take some of the load off the plantar fascia, and many people find their feet more comfortable through the day. If the pain lasts more than a few weeks, see a healthcare provider.

Should I use shock absorbing or arch support insoles for plantar fasciitis?

It depends on when your pain is worst. If it flares during or after activity, like running, skating or standing for hours, Shock Absorbing insoles cushion each step with a heel cup and memory foam. If it’s worst in the morning or after sitting, the All Day insoles give steady arch support through the day. Many customers keep a pair of each, one for active use and one for everyday shoes.

Can I wear plantar fasciitis insoles in Vans or skate shoes?

Yes. Take the stock insole out of your shoe and put ours in. Both come in sizes S to XXL, and the All Day pair is trim-to-fit if you need to fine-tune the length. They sit well in flat-soled shoes like Vans and skate shoes, and skaters tend to like the Shock Absorbing pair for the heel cup on hard landings.

How long do plantar fasciitis insoles take to work?

There’s no set timeline, and insoles don’t treat plantar fasciitis on their own. Give them a week or two of steady wear in the shoes you use most, since switching between supported and unsupported shoes makes it hard to tell what’s helping. If your heel pain doesn’t ease after a few weeks, see a healthcare provider.
