The Pouch Is the Point
Most back braces just squeeze. This one has a pouch built into the panel that sits over your lower back, sized for a single Old Bones gel pack. Slide one in and the cold lands exactly where the ache is, from the lumbar spine down through the sacrum, held there by the brace instead of by your hand.
Ice It or Heat It
The gel packs work both ways. Freezer for ice when something is inflamed and angry. Microwave for heat when you wake up stiff and need to loosen up before you move. Same pack, same pouch, whichever your back is asking for that day.
Why Two Packs
The pouch holds one. We sell them in twos because a gel pack only stays cold for so long, and the moment it goes lukewarm your icing session is over. Keep the spare in the freezer and you can swap in a fresh one without waiting around. One is on your back, one is getting cold. That is the whole trick.

Can I wear this under my work clothes?
Yes. Our back brace has a slim profile designed to be worn discreetly under shirts, scrubs, and work uniforms.
Should I get the gel packs with it?
The brace has a pouch built into the lower back panel that holds one gel pack, so you can ice or heat the area while you are wearing it. Add the 2-pack on this page if you want temperature therapy alongside the compression. If you only need support, the brace on its own does that.
How many gel packs does the pouch hold?
One at a time. Most people keep a second pack in the freezer so they can swap in a fresh cold one the moment the first goes lukewarm.
Does the pouch work for heat too?
Yes. The same gel packs go in the microwave for heat therapy. Ice tends to be the move for a fresh flare-up, heat for stiffness that has been hanging around.
Where on my back does the pouch sit?
Over the lower back, covering the lumbar spine down through the sacrum. That is the area the brace is built to support.
How long should I ice for?
Fifteen to twenty minutes at a stretch is the usual guidance, then give your skin a break before going again. Keep a layer of fabric between the gel pack and bare skin.
